SMART GOAL 1: Leadership Through Performance Recognition and Peer Support

S – Specific
- Demonstrate leadership by consistently performing at a high level, earning frequent MVP recognition, and using that position to support peers who needed clarification, guidance, or additional input on assigned tasks.
M – Measurable
- Leadership was measured through repeated MVP recognition, consistent completion of weekly tasks, and active involvement in assisting others when challenges or questions arose.
A – Achievable
- This goal was achievable through strong task mastery, clear communication, and a willingness to share knowledge and provide constructive input.
R – Relevant
- Peer leadership and mentorship are essential skills in marketing, journalism, and communications environments, where collaboration and clarity directly impact outcomes.
T – Time-Bound
- This goal was demonstrated and assessed on a weekly basis throughout the Summer 2024 internship.

CLOSING REFLECTION

This internship strengthened my leadership confidence and reinforced the importance of collaboration, clear communication, and mentorship. Through consistent weekly performance, peer support, and applied marketing and communication tasks, I gained a clearer understanding of how my skills translate across industries. The experience confirmed my interest in pursuing further education in journalism or communications while recognizing marketing as a foundational skill that supports effective storytelling, audience engagement, and professional impact.
